[MADtv] Season 14 of MADtv: Update #5

You knew we would not keep you waiting too long for your next Season 14 "MADtv" update. Have you sufficiently recovered from all of the WWE-style smackdowns we have thrown at you so far? Well, even if you are still experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the recent casting surprises, then I suggest that you pull yourself together quickly. The news item featured in this season update is what we in the business like to refer to as a doozie. Only the most strong-willed "MADtv" fans can withstand doozies, and anyone who is not sufficiently prepared to handle their brunt will be mercilessly decimated into billions of skeletal shards. Now that you have been amply warned, read past this paragraph at your own risk.

The doozie in question comes to you courtesy of everyone's favorite male underwear model and toothpaste taste taster, Bobby Lee, who has confirmed on his MySpace that he will in fact return to "MADtv" for Season 14. Are you still there, or has the mass exodus of viewers screaming in terror already begun? Oh, the humanity! Nonetheless, my vain hope is that we have prepared you in past news posts for this possibility. (The question of how one readies oneself for the advent of Armageddon is a valid one, though, I suppose.) As we hinted in our first season update, the possibility that Bobby would stick around for the upcoming season loomed large; thus, we are not exactly dropping a ton of bricks on top of your skull from out of nowhere. Even so, the decision to stay on the show contradicts his original announcement from October 2007 that he would leave after Season 13. Many initially speculated -- nay, prayed -- that Bobby's as-yet-untitled pilot, which was recently picked up by Comedy Central, would be incentive enough for his post-Season 13 "MADtv" exit. Well, my Bobby-bashing friends, it appears that the man will instead juggle time on the sketch comedy series with his duties for the Comedy Central pilot. Since we do not yet know whether this increased workload will mean fewer "MADtv" episodes for Mr. Lee next season, everyone would do well not to get his or her hopes up too high just yet. Naturally, ever the Bobby devotee, I will be counting the days till Season 14's debut, whereas most of the rest of you will be counting on simply a quick retraction of this news story. Hey, the man was nice enough to apologize for returning: "I'm coming back to mad tv for an 8th season. sorry." What more do you want? At any rate, here's hoping that nobody who reads this post will contract any immune system-destroying diseases and that Bobby Lee's eighth season on "MADtv" is a successful and endlessly hilarious one.

If you need time to rest before the next season update, then hit the hay now. Hey, did I not tell you that you were in for a doozie? Perhaps next time, you will believe me when I warn you of the lifelong consequences of these insidious surprises. YES! Finally, some good news to reduce the toll of all the bad news so far on us fans!

Though there are a relatively large group of 'Bobby Bashers' out there, it's always good to see old faces return. Of course, that'll mean we'll get to see his junk again (which may or may not be a good thing).

Relax MADfan, don't forget that whoever does their PR is probably too "busy" to fill us in on their status for next season. I have faith that at least one, if not both, will be back next season.

the ending of that whole post sounded very disturbing, and since that is deciding the fates of Jordan and Daheli I don't know how I feel about that......I hope it turns out to be good news and they both come back.

I'm excited, I'm not the biggest Bobby fan, but I love his Connie Chung, and I miss Average Asian, even though he hates its.

I'm still not over Dan being let go though....

I saw this on his myspace page yesterday but didn't report it fast enough. I guess mizzmad saw it before I could report it. What a coincidence!

Bobby comming back gives me hope for season 14. and I was looking at the cast list so far on Wikipedia and it's not to bad, accept for Michael, it is still the same basic repertory cast as last year (depending on Arden and Jordan's situation).

Arden was confirmed a while back...she'll be there. Jordan and Daheli are the two we're waiting for!

Sorry mizzimad. I mentioned this because I kind of wanted to give all credit to you. That was the symbol of the winking. I'm sorry I didn't do it in the submit news thing, it's just I did that before, and I never got credited for it. Although now that I think about it, I may not have been logged in or had the account yet. That's probably why it didn't get through. If I get another juicy piece of information I will be sure to put it in the news column.

If they cut Jordan off this is will be one of the worst seasons ever. Not sketch-wise, but departure-wise. So many great talent are leaving...

I think by contract, aren't they all on for 5 years, unless booted? Someone else might want to back this up before you take this for fact, but he was prob. booted. I know that's what happened to Paul, Danielle, Josh, Nicole RJ, Frank C, Lisa, etc.

Sometimes I wonder what does it take to please the executives so they won't get booted out. Haven't they proven they are worthy of a spot as a cast member? I smell office politics~ I may be wrong though.
